Role Play Information

Sul'dam are highly skilled in training newly leashed damane. This is done by 'breaking in the damane' as one would with an untrained dog.
The methods Sul'dam use vary from one to another, as each Sul'dam determines for herself which method is most likely to work best for each damane under their control. For
the damane this usually means that they must become accustomed to undergo many different forms of training as they are usually handled by several Sul'dam.

New name

The first thing a Sul'dam usually does upon leashing a damane is give her a new name. This serves in helping the damane accept her new life and her new identity and removes her link with her past as a human quite thoroughly in the damane's mind. It drives home that they are no longer the same person and that they now must adopt their new identity and the life that comes with it.

Some, more soft hearted, Sul'dam will allow a damane to keep their name as a way to reduce the damane's stress level in adopting their new life. This, however, can be changed at any time should the Sul'dam decide that the damane is not performing as well as she should or obeying as readily as is proper. For to keep one's own name is considered a privilege, not a right. Damane have no rights, since they are not human.

Damane speech

Another one of the first things a damane learns is to speak of herself in the third person. It is never 'I' or 'me' for a damane, but always the use of her name as though she is speaking of another person. "Sulin is very happy today", "Sulin understands", "Sulin is hungry", etc.
This furthers the acceptance of the damane of her new station in life and the fact that she is no longer a person.

A roommate

Sometimes a Sul'dam will assign a roommate to a newly leashed damane. This is always an experienced damane of exceptional behavior. The goal of this is for the experienced damane to befriend the newly leashed one and by becoming a role model for her. Some Sul'dams believe that this is a very effective way of helping the damane let go of her former life and accept her new one.

the A'dam

The a'dam provides a Sul'dam with a wide range of tools to help her keep a damane under control. This control goes so far that, eventually, the damane are completely broken and stripped of their free will and even of their ability of independent thought. The vast majority of damane become absolutely and utterly convinced that they 'must' be leashed, to such a point where, should they be unleashed, they would be subjected to an extreme panic attack and run to the first sul'dam they can find, begging to be leashed again. Only a very small portion (less than 0.001 %) manage to keep an independent mind while being in service for a long period of time. These usually also develop an extremely high talent for acting the part, for if it is ever found out that one is 'unbreakable' she would be executed even though that is a decision always regretted deeply. For to lose such a valuable slave is always a loss to the Empire. Still, the greater duty, which is the protection of the Empire, must be preserved and a damane that cannot be properly broken in is a liability that cannot be allowed to exist. The A'dam can be used in a great many ways and offers a wide range of opportunities for a Sul'dam to train and control their damane.

  • any pain the Sul'dam receives while being linked to a damane will be transferred to the damane but on a higher level than the original pain. This effectively stops damane from attacking their Sul'dam and provides a safety for the Sul'dam while training their charges.
  • any attempt by a damane to remove the bracelet linked to her collar from where a Sul'dam has left it after taking it off results in muscle cramps and pain in the damane. This prevents damane from running away.
  • any attempt by the damane to remove her collar results in high level pains, which also prevents her from running away.
  • a Sul'dam can manipulate the thought pattern of a damane when they are linked and even after the collar has been removed. She can, for instance, prevent the damane from using any object so long as the damane believes she can use it as a weapon against her betters. In order to be able to use the object, the damane must become absolutely convinced that she will never use that object for that purpose ever again. This way of manipulation and control is very powerful and breaks a damane on a psychological level, which is much harder to break free from.
  • the a'dam can also be used to transfer any emotion into the damane, both pleasurable and painful. This is used in disciplining sessions and reward opportunities. Much like one would with a dog in training.
