Atha'an Miere

Ranks and duties of the Atha'an Miere

Atha'an Miere PSW

General Info Seafolk

Role Play Information

The Atha'an Miere have a very strict hierarchy and they are almost religious in everyone behaving properly according to their respective rank. Being a race that lives almost predominantly on the sea, they are a hard and fierce people, with a very hard disciplinary system. After all, the safety of a ship, and therefore the entire ship family, rests with everyone knowing their place, their duty and performing at the peak of their ability at all times.

The rank a Seafolk person can achieve is not determined by age or strength in the One Power, but by gender. The Atha'an Miere are a matriarchal society and there is a clear road up the ladder which is different for males and females. While they all start out the same, only females can reach the top level, while the males can rise with their female leader but always remain under her authority.

The PSW Seafolk have 2 Clans, each with 7 Sailmistresses.
                - Clan Tremalking (large island southwest from Tarabon) - home of the Mistress of the Ships
                - Clan Dashar (island group of 7 islands in the northwest from Arad Doman)
This number may increase in time in case of a stable increase of active Seafolk members.
