etc. + Choose
one of the following: Prank & Punishment:
(…/8 – to do/ongoing/complete – link) --> RP about a
prank your character does on someone, either alone or in collaboration
with others, in which you get caught and are punished. Sailmistresses
run tight Ships, there is little that goes on that escapes attention.

This can be one of the various tasks they are given and how
they learn and/or are performing in them. Defending
crew & Ship: (…/5 – to do/ongoing/complete – link)

fighting or wooden daggers or the likes. Pay attention to the
realism of the story and your character’s level of experience!

the RP. Channelers No

OP training under supervision of the Ship’s Windfinder.
The One Power: (…/5 posts or 1000 words solo RP
per topic – to do/ongoing/complete – link)
you can earn 1 OP point per 5 decent sized
posts (or per 1000 words) training the One Power note:
you can do all topics in one big RP or break them up in separate
RP's. --> RP the training of your character in the use
of the One Power in all the following topics:
- control: learn to embrace the Source
- elements: Seafolk novices
will predominantly learn about Air, Water and Spirit. They will
learn only the basics of Fire and
nothing of Earth. The Sea is the home of the Atha’an Miere,
not the land. - Weaving of
the Wind: the novice will learn and practice to master this
skill, as all Windfinders must. -
Weather: the novice will learn and practice reading the
skies for signs on upcoming weather, as all Windfinders must.
- Basic Defense: novices
will also learn a very basic level of defense using Fire to
create fireballs to aid in the Ship’s
defenses against hostile
attacks. This is to be strongly discouraged until she is stronger
in the One Power
to avoid any accidents on board ship. Fire
and Ships do not go well together. Defending crew &
Ship: (…/5 – to do/ongoing/complete – link) -->
RP a training session with one of the Da d’ma Miere warriors
in fighting skills. Basic fighting skills only: body fighting
or wooden daggers or the likes. Pay attention to the realism
of the story and your character’s level of experience!
+ Choose one
of the following: A day in the life
of: (…/8 posts or 1000 words solo RP – to do/ongoing/complete
– link) --> RP about a day in your character’s life
as a Waterhand. A test: (…/8 – to do/ongoing/complete
– link) --> RP about your character being put in a situation
where her channeling skills are tested. Either as a result of
a training session or in a real ship emergency such as a storm
or a hostile attack. 4. Da d’ma Miere
Salt name: (…/5 posts or 1000 words solo RP
– to do/ongoing/complete – link) --> RP the ceremony
in which your character is promoted to the full rank of Da d’ma
Miere (One who is of the Ocean) and in which they are given
their salt name. Assignment: (…/8 posts or 1000
words solo RP – to do/ongoing/complete – links) -->
RP what job/position your character is assigned as their main
position on board ship. This will be their job from now on and
will be one of the two specialties they choose as a Waterhand.
Note: channelers
obviously have no choice in this. They continue on their path
towards becoming a Windfinder. At this stage, they are assigned
as Assistant to an existing Windfinder, where they will continue
their apprenticeship. Your character is now a full senior member of the
Atha’an Miere and is ready to become eligible for promotion
into the leadership ranks, if so desired. However, you can also choose
to keep your character at this rank and develop it’s skills
towards the point of mastership in their chosen field of expertise.
For instance, if your character is a cook, you can develop it
into the Ship’s First Cook (or Chef cook or Master Cook or whichever
name we would give it). Obviously, that will have no bearing
in that character becoming a Cargomaster, though it doesn’t
exclude the possibility either. To reach the level
of Master in your character’s chosen field, you must have 5
different RP’s in which your character practices its skills
in that field. So for instance, if you RP your cook going
on shore to visit family or being captured by hostile forces
where he doesn’t perform any cooking, that RP wouldn’t count
towards it’s elevation to Master. Practicing the skill must
be a reasonable part of the RP for it to count. One line of
saying he prepared breakfast won’t cut it. Use your common sense
in this. The final decision on this lies with the
FL Staff.
