Miners

The Aiel mine their own gold and silver as well as many less precious ores.
They also mine for rubies, sapphires, moonstones and firedrops, though they do not facet-cut these into their jewelry.

Weavers and Jewelry makers

Weaving and jewelry making are the primary crafts of the Aiel, with metalsmithing closely behind.
Textiles such as wool and algode are woven into a variety of fabrics. The wool comes from the sheep and goats that graze on the sparse land, while the algode comes from intensely irrigated plots within each hold.

Blacksmiths

Metalworking of any kind is highly valued by the Aiel. Smiths may not be made gai'shain as that service would deprive the hold of their skills for a year and a day. To harm a blacksmith is considered as abominable as harming a young child.
